Whether you are buying or selling, Tom Salvetti brings varied and interesting experiences to the real estate business that can be of benefit to you.
A native of Portland, Maine, his exposure to real estate started with one of his earliest summer jobs - working for an investor who bought, rehabilitated, and resold properties. At the age of 22 he bought his own first property, a three apartment building in Bangor, Maine, which he rehabilitated and sold two years later. Along the way he acquired a Maine broker's license and worked in rural land and residential sales for several years.
At the same time, he obtained his pilot's license, followed by commercial, instrument, multi-engine, seaplane, flight instructor, and eventually airline transport pilot ratings. Naturally, this led to several years of work flying professionally for a prominent scheduled regional airline on routes all over the northeast. He found that flying instrument approaches in minimum weather conditions, on a daily basis, with passengers' lives at stake taught him to focus his priorities and keep things in their proper perspective - useful life skills.
When his flying career wound down, he obtained a degree in computer science from the University of Maine and then relocated to New Hampshire in 1986. For the next fifteen years he worked in the information technology field, mostly in the publishing industry, and as an independent consultant. He honed his negotiating and interpersonal skills in the purchase of large computer and software systems for his employers and clients. In 2002 he returned to the real estate business in Alton Bay, working for Curry Realtors before joining the Bean Group in 2010.
Tom and his wife Phyllis enjoy the many benefits of living on Lake Winnipesaukee as well as visiting their daughter in New York City. He is eager to share his knowledge and skills to help others fulfill their real estate dreams.
